WEATHER CONDITIONS

Overcast days increase bottom fishing effectiveness because fish feel more safe, whereas brilliant sunlight can drive them deeper.

TERMINAL TACKLE

Weights: Use heavy sinkers (pyramid, bank, or egg) to keep bait on the bottom in strong currents.
Hooks: Circle hooks are effective and tend to hook fish in the corner of the mouth for easy release.
Bait: Choose live bait (squid or minnows), cut bait, or artificial lures based on your target species.
